Troubleshooting
Holding the key does nothing
Make sure Voice is running in the menu bar. Check which key is selected in Settings → Dictation; the default is Right Option, not the left Option key.
Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable TabMail Voice. If you changed the permission, quit and reopen Voice before trying again.
The waveform does not react to my voice
Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable TabMail Voice. Check your Mac’s selected input device and input level, especially if a headset or external microphone is connected. Wait for the listening waveform before speaking.
It records, but no words appear
Check your internet connection and TabMail sign-in. Voice needs the online service to transcribe and process speech. Make sure the target app has a focused, editable text field, then try a short phrase in a simple text editor.
It writes my instruction instead of editing
Switch to agent mode by pressing Space while holding the dictation key. Select the text before starting if you want to edit that text. In ordinary dictation mode, your spoken words become the text to insert.
A name is spelled incorrectly
Add the preferred spelling in Settings → Dictionary. Check the language badge and your current keyboard language. Screen reading can help with names already visible in the foreground window, if you choose to enable it.
A tool cannot access my calendar or files
Check that the tool is enabled in Settings → Agent mode, and complete any macOS permission request for that resource. Retry a specific request once access is granted.
Still stuck? Contact support with the Voice version, macOS version, selected key, and whether a short dictation works in a simple text editor. Do not post private dictated text or screenshots of private windows.
