Troubleshooting
I signed in, but no mail appears
A TabMail sign-in does not connect every mailbox automatically. Open Email Accounts and check that the mailbox you want is connected. Complete any provider sign-in prompt and check your internet connection.
For iCloud, use an app-specific password. For another IMAP provider, check both incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) details against the provider’s instructions.
New mail arrives, but older search results are missing
Check Email Accounts → Sync Status. Initial indexing and history backfill take time. Fast Sync Mode is available there when you want to prioritize backfill. Wi-Fi and power settings can affect the pace.
If sync is idle but search is incomplete, Smart Reindex re-walks folders and retries failed body fetches without deleting data. Try that before deleting the local index.
Notifications are missing
Check Push Notifications in Email Accounts and complete its authorization. Then check TabMail’s notification permissions in iOS Settings. Enable at least one visual alert location: Banners, Lock Screen, or Notification Center. Sound or badges alone are not enough for immediate new-mail presentation.
Dictation doesn’t start
Check TabMail’s microphone and speech recognition permissions in iOS Settings, then check Dictation Language in TabMail Settings. Retry with a short phrase and a working internet connection.
AI summaries or replies aren’t appearing
Check your TabMail sign-in, usage, internet connection, and AI opt-out setting. If you use your own provider, check its selected model, key, and billing status. A large initial sync may still be processing messages.
Still stuck? Contact support with the app version, iOS version, provider type, and the steps that reproduce the problem. Keep mailbox contents and credentials out of public tickets.
