Thunderbird overview

TabMail adds an AI assistant to Thunderbird for email, composing, inbox triage, and calendars. These guides use Thunderbird menus and keyboard shortcuts. If you’re using another app, choose iOS or TabMail Voice.

Get started

Install and sign in, then follow the Welcome wizard to choose recommended defaults. Open TabMail from the Thunderbird toolbar.

Find your next task

• Chat with your inbox to search messages, understand threads, and manage email and calendar tasks.
• Write with autocomplete and prepared replies.
• Ask for inline edits when a draft needs another pass.
• Triage your inbox and teach your tags.
• Personalize Settings and prompts so replies and actions fit your workflow.

Privacy

Email search and indexing run locally. Relevant content for AI requests is processed transiently. Local preferences and context help personalize the assistant. You can opt out of AI requests in Settings.

Content voluntarily submitted through Report a Concern is retained for review, and your own AI provider’s terms apply when using its keys. See the Privacy Policy for full details and exceptions.
