Smart Reply Drafts
Open a reply window and find an AI-drafted response already waiting for you. TabMail reads the conversation and prepares a thoughtful reply.
How it works
When you click “Reply” on an email, TabMail analyzes the conversation and generates a draft response. The draft appears as ghost text that you can accept, modify, or ignore.
Using smart reply drafts
- Select an email in your inbox
- Click Reply All (or press
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) - Review the draft — It appears as suggested text in the compose window
- Press Tab to accept each line, or Shift + Tab to accept the entire draft
- Edit as needed — The draft is a starting point, not the final word
What makes a good draft
TabMail considers:
- The content and tone of the original email
- Your previous replies in the conversation
- Common email patterns and etiquette
- Context from your knowledge base (if you’ve added personal context)
Customizing behavior
The quality of drafts improves as TabMail learns your preferences. You can:
- Add context to your Knowledge base about how you like to write
- Set up Prompts & rules for specific situations
- Use Templates to save common replies for quick use
- Simply edit the drafts you receive — TabMail learns from your corrections
Tips
- Smart drafts work best for straightforward replies
- For complex or sensitive emails, use the draft as a starting point
- The more you use TabMail, the better it gets at matching your voice
