Start typing and let AI complete your thoughts. TabMail provides intelligent, real-time suggestions as you write.

How it works

As you compose an email, TabMail analyzes what you’re writing and suggests completions. Suggestions appear inline as ghost text—just press Tab to accept.

Using autocomplete

  1. Start typing in a compose window
  2. Wait briefly — A suggestion will appear after you pause
  3. Press Tab to accept the suggestion, or keep typing to ignore it

Other ways to accept suggestions

  • Press Tab to accept the suggestion, or keep typing to ignore it
  • Press Shift + Tab to accept the entire suggestion at once
  • Select a part of suggestion and press Tab to accept it

Tips for better suggestions

  • Write a clear opening — The AI uses context to make relevant suggestions
  • Be natural — Write as you normally would; TabMail adapts to your style
  • Use the subject line — It provides context for more relevant completions
  • Customize your prompts — See the Prompts page in the TabMail popup menu to edit your composition settings and customize TabMail’s behavior

Works best with plaintext

Autocomplete requires plaintext composition mode. See Plaintext compose requirement for setup instructions.

Privacy

Email content is processed transiently for AI features and is not retained. You can always disable AI features at any time with a single toggle in your settings. For more details, see Privacy Policy.
